Top 10 | Most Beautiful and Expensive Jewelry Collections from Van Cleef & Arpels

In case you wanted to visit each of these masterpieces separately, I found and linked their individual videos or product-pages below. Thus, if you’re so inclined, click down the list, watch-listen-read-rewind, and spend another hour or so bathed in glorious, luxurious, uplifting jewelry creations – from a true master of the craft.

#1. Le Secret Collection

For over 100 years, Van Cleef & Arpels’ passion has enlivened its High Jewelry creations. The Maison shares its unique vision of the craft, marked by enchanting sources of inspiration and virtuoso know-how. Each meticulously selected stone is chosen for its exceptional quality and the emotion it carries. For Van Cleef & Arpels, which has made mystery one of its best-known signatures, this theme lends itself to an exploration that is both familiar and inventive.

#2. Passe Parout Necklace

Since its foundation, Van Cleef & Arpels has stood out for its technical ingenuity and predilection for transformable pieces. Creations such as the 1938 Passe-Partout necklace and the 1950 Zip necklace clearly demonstrate this passion. Necklaces can expand or contract, become bracelets or belts, and feature detachable clips, while watches reveal secret dials.

#3. Flower Lace Clip

By combining the transparency of lace with the graceful silhouette of flowers, the Flowerlace High Jewelry collection brings together two of Van Cleef & Arpels’ key sources of inspiration: nature and couture.

#4. The Ocean Tiara

The Ocean Tiara was commissioned by Van Cleef and Arpels and can be converted into a necklace as well. The tiara was accompanied by a pair of earrings in the same style. Inspired by the ocean outside Monaco, this tiara features 850 diamonds and 359 sapphires. The blue of the ocean is represented by the sapphires, and three separate shades of sapphires are present. The spray and foam of the ocean is represented by the diamonds.

#5. The Femininity Collection

The Maison created its first fairies and ballerinas in New York in the early 1940s, thus marking the beginning of an iconic tradition at Van Cleef & Arpels. These feminine figures include the 1941 Spirit of Beauty clip, once owned by the American socialite Barbara Hutton, depicting a slender fairy in flight with a magic wand in her hand.

#6. The Egyptian Collection

Howard Carter’s discovery of Tutankhamen’s tomb in 1922 sparked a worldwide passion for Ancient Egypt. Intrigued by this historic event and the richness of the age-old culture it brought to light, Van Cleef & Arpels created a number of Egyptian-inspired pieces between 1922 and 1925. Egyptian symbols and images are depicted through contemporary Art Deco codes – geometric lines, repeated patterns and stark contrasts.

#7. The Romeo & Julet Collection

Graff drew inspiration from the captivating energy of music when designing the Rhythm collection, resulting in an immense sense of movement, vivacity and rapture within each jewelry piece.

#8. The Emerald Collection

A rare beryl of unparalleled beauty, the emerald takes its name from the Sanscrit smaragdus, meaning “heart of stone.” The Maison’s emeralds come predominantly from Colombia, Zambia and Brazil, and are selected according to three main criteria that bring out their unique character.

#9. Sous Le Lune Necklace

A mysterious forest under a starry night sky. This is the inspiration behind the bright emeralds and sapphires that make up the Sous la Lune necklace. Take a closer look at the know-how behind this creation.

#10. Carousel des Demoiselles

Like the circle of frogs surrounds the animal who will transform into a princess, the Carrousel des demoiselles bracelet forms a joyous circle. Inspired by the Art Deco movement, follow the step-by-step process of its craftsmanship.
